Mr. Sayed Karim Hashemi, Charman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI), met with Ilham Mohammadov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Afghanistan, in Kabul. They discussed the expansion of economic and trade relations, increasing joint investments, and strengthening cooperation between the private sectors of the two countries.
Mr. Hashemi emphasized the friendly relations and historical and cultural ties between the two countries, highlighted Afghanistan’s potential in the fields of industry, agriculture, and mining, and called for increased trade exchanges and the export of Afghan products to Azerbaijan.
The Charman of ACCI also requested the Azerbaijani Ambassador’s cooperation in facilitating engagement with Afghan traders who intend to purchase and import petrol and diesel from Azerbaijan, and in establishing connections between them and reputable companies and suppliers in Azerbaijan.
Mr. Hashemi further invited Azerbaijani traders and investors to participate in the Fifth Imam Abu Hanifa (RA) National and International Exhibition, scheduled to be held in Kabul on 3rd of October, and to learn about Afghanistan’s trade and investment opportunities.
Meanwhile, Ilham Mohammadov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan, expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment and emphasized his country’s interest in expanding economic and trade relations with Afghanistan. He welcomed the invitation extended to Azerbaijani traders and investors to attend the Imam Abu Hanifa (RA) Exhibition and expressed hope that representatives of Azerbaijan’s private sector would participate more extensively in this year’s exhibition.
Both sides emphasized the importance of expanding trade relations, establishing direct connections between traders and investors, and utilizing existing capacities to develop economic cooperation between Afghanistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
