Mr. Sayed Karim Hashemi, Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI), in the presence of Mr. Masoud Rahat, Member of the Board of Directors and Deputy of the Kandahar Chamber of Commerce and Investment, met with Mr. Yatin Patel, Ambassador of the Republic of India to Afghanistan, in Kabul. The meeting focused on facilitating and increasing the export of Afghanistan’s fresh fruits, dried fruits, and figs to India.
Emphasizing the importance of the Indian market for Afghanistan’s export products, the ACCI Chairman requested the Ambassador of India to cooperate with the relevant authorities of his country in increasing Kam Air flights and facilitating regular flights, including, if possible, two flights per day, to ensure the swift transportation of fresh and dried fruits by Afghan traders.
Mr. Hashemi also requested India’s cooperation in allocating one daily air cargo flight to transport Afghanistan’s export products, thereby increasing the capacity to transport fresh fruits, dried fruits, and figs to the Indian market.
In another part of the meeting, the ACCI Chairman called for the facilitation and acceleration of urgent visa issuance for Afghan fresh and dried fruit traders and exporters, enabling them to follow up on their commercial and export activities in a timely manner.
Mr. Yatin Patel, Ambassador of the Republic of India to Afghanistan, welcomed the issues raised and assured the participants that he would follow up on the requests related to increasing flights, air cargo services, and facilitating visas for Afghan traders with the relevant Indian authorities.
At the conclusion, both sides emphasized continued cooperation to facilitate and increase the export of Afghan products to India.
