Following the devastating floods in Nuristan Province, which caused loss of life, financial damage, and widespread destruction affecting the residents of the province, a high-level delegation of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, led by Mr. Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, traveled to Nuristan to assess the situation, express sympathy with the affected families, and evaluate the urgent needs of the people.
Mr. Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund expressed his deep sorrow over this tragic incident and conveyed his condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims and all those affected. He assured the people that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan would utilize all available resources and capacities to address the situation of the affected families, provide emergency assistance, and reduce the hardships caused by this natural disaster.
Mr. Sayed Karim Hashemi, Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI), also expressed his condolences and sympathy to the families of the martyrs, the injured, and all those affected by the disaster. He emphasized that the people of Nuristan are an inseparable part of the Afghan nation and that the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment stands beside them during these difficult times.
He further prayed to Almighty Allah to grant His infinite mercy upon those who lost their lives, speedy recovery to the injured, and patience and great reward to the bereaved families.
During the visit, the high-level delegation toured the flood-affected areas and closely assessed the extent of the damages and the urgent needs of the local population.
The Governor and Deputy Governor of Nuristan Province, along with religious scholars, elders, and influential figures of the province, expressed their appreciation and gratitude for the visit of the high-level delegation of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and for their sympathy and support toward the affected people of Nuristan.
As part of its national, Islamic, and humanitarian responsibility, the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment provided AFN 6.585 million from the Charity Fund of the respected members of the ACCI Board of Directors, in addition to AFN 1 million donated personally by the President of ACCI, bringing the total assistance to AFN 7.585 million, which was allocated to support the families affected by the floods.
