Mr. Azrakhsh Hafizi, selected as new president of ECO Chamber of Commerce and Industries. Leadership of Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries, congratulate Mr. Hafizi sand all members of Afghanistan private sector and the peoples of Afghanistan for this huge achievement and hope more successes for him in the future.

It is to mention that in the 29th board meeting of ACCI, the candidacy of Mr. Hafizi for ECO chamber of commerce and industries was decided. In the latest meeting of the ECO Chamber of Commerce, in which the secretary general Mr. Khalil Ibrahim Akcha, Mr. Akhundi, minister of the urbanization and highways of the Islamic Republic of Iran, president and VP of ECO Chamber of Commerce and Industries and representatives and ambassadors of the member countries were present, Mr. Hafizi was introduced as new president of ECO Chamber of Commerce and Industries. In this meeting Mr. Hafizi on behalf of Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries, and Engineer Ghulam Hussain Shafii, president of agriculture Chamber of Commerce and Industries of the Islamic Republic of Iran were selected as president and Vice president of the ECO Chamber of Commerce and Industries for its coming round.

ECO chamber of commerce and industries is a composite of the Representatives of the chambers of commerce and industries of the member countries, which is a top birthplace for economic decision making among ECO.

Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries has the privilege of ECO membership since 2004, since the time, Mr. Hafizi remained as VP of ECO Chamber of Commerce who is fortunately selected as new president of this organization for its coming round.

ECO is a regional economic cooperation organization established in 1985 by member countries (Iran, Pakistan and Turkey) to carry on economic, technical and cultural cooperation among member countries. ECO was established to replace The Regional Cooperation for Development (RCD 1964-1979).

In 1992, ECO accepted Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Qazaqistan, Kirghizstan, Tajikistan, Turkmanistan and Uzbekistan as its new members.
