ACCI’s Chairman Mr. Tawakal Ahmadyar and ACCI’s President of the Secretariat Mr. Khan Muhammad Sarfaraz Baz met with the President of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry QCCI Mr. Khalifa Bin Jassim Al-Thani and discussed how to expand trade relations and increase cooperation between ACCI and QCCI.

Mr. Ahmadyar acclaimed Qatar’s cooperation in peace talks, the stability of the Afghan security situation, and its humanitarian aid to the poverty and drought-stricken and war-torn people of Afghanistan.
He also said that the prevalent inclusive safe and secure situation in Afghanistan leads to numerous investment opportunities.   

Furthermore, Mr. Ahmadyar provided QCCI’s president with comprehensive information about ACCI’s activities, requested him to pay a visit to Afghanistan, and persuaded Qatari investors to invest in Afghanistan.

Mr. Al-Thani accepted Mr. Tawakal Ahmadyar’s invitation to take an official trip to Afghanistan and added, “We will assign a commercial delegation to Afghanistan to look over the existing trade and investment opportunities in Afghanistan.”

In addition, he ensured that he would encourage Qatari investment in Afghanistan and continue to provide Afghan people with humanitarian and life-saving assistance.

ACCI’s Chairman Mr. Tawakal Ahmadyar, Muhammad Dawood Yousufzai member of the Board of Directors, and ACCI’s acting CEO Mr. Mirwais Hotak met with the president of Andkhoy Chamber of Commerce and Investment Mr. Abdul Majeed Neyazai and discussed various ways to help provide legal solutions to their problems.

Mr. Neyazai said that it was significant to establish warehouses in the Aqina Port and develop trade regions in it and requested ACCI’s cooperation concerning this issue.

Mr. Ahmadyar acclaimed Andkhoy Chamber’s activities in providing facilities for the Afghan Private Sector especially, exempting Aqina and Andkhoy from extra payments, and affirmed that he had already shared the problems with the relevant governmental organizations and is going to organize several meetings in this regard.

He, furthermore, affirmed that ACCI is committed to providing inclusive cooperation to help find legal solutions for the problems of the Afghan Private Sector.

ACCI’s Deputy CEO Mr. Muhammad Anwar Arifi met with the officials of Save the Children and discussed the implementation of different projects of SCI in different provinces of the country and ACCI’s cooperation in this regard.

Officials of Save the Children provided the Deputy CEO of the ACCI with information about surveys they have done especially a survey of discovering the problems that female farmers are dealing with presently.
They, furthermore, said that they have carried out surveys in 5 provinces to find the problems of female farmers and provide them with legal solutions. They are also planning to conduct such surveys in 10 more provinces and requested the ACCI’s help and inclusive cooperation.

Mr. Arifi said, “Considering the supportive activities of the ACCI, it has a tremendous experience in conducting surveys and reinforcing female entrepreneurs and can be a helping hand in running joint surveys with Save the Children.”

Exploring different avenues to solve the existing problems of the traders, the acting CEO of the ACCI Mr. Mirwais Hotak along with the head of the international relations of the ACCI Mr. Omid Ghaforzai convened with the Resident Representative for UNDP Afghanistan Mr. Stephen Rodriques, and discussed how to:
•    Overcome the challenges of the Afghan Private Sector
•    Execute investment opportunities
•    And enhance cooperation

Mr. Hotak said, “Lack of banking services and difficulties in transferring trade money abroad, lack of facilities in transport, transit and in visa issuance for Afghan traders are the main obstacles of the Afghan Private Sector and we kindly request UNDP’s assistance to help eradicate these problems.”

In response, Mr. Rodriques ensured UNDP’s inclusive cooperation in eliminating the issues and signified ACCI’s joint venture in implementing UNDP’s small projects.

ACCI’s Vice-Chairman Mr. Muhammad Younus Muhmand, ACCI’s Secretary to the Board of Directors, ACCI’s Finance President Mr. Sheerin Agha Sakhi, ACCI’s President of International Relations Mr. Engineer Sayed Jawid Burhan, ACCI’s members of the Board of Directors Mr. Ziauddin Achakzai and Mr. Muhammad Dawood Yousufzai, and ACCI’s Deputy CEO Mr. Muhammad Anwar Arifi met with the Indonesian Acting Ambassador for Afghanistan Mr. Budi Rachmat Suryasaputra and discussed how to promote trade relations between Afghanistan and Indonesia, establish a trade association between the traders of both countries and build the capacity of female entrepreneurs.

Mr. Suryasaputra provided Mr. Muhmand with information about the ‘Afghan Women Capacity Building Conference’ that is going to be organized by the Indonesia Chamber of Commerce and requested ACCI’s comprehensive cooperation to introduce Afghan female entrepreneurs to this conference.

Mr. Muhmand besides welcoming Mr. Suryasaputra, affirmed that the ACCI is a leading representative of the Afghan Private Sector and traders of the country as a whole.

He, furthermore, indicated the existing investment opportunities in the country, insisted mutual trade be accelerated, and ensured ACCI’s cooperation in organizing the above-mentioned conference.

ACCI’s Vice-Chairman Mr. Muhammad Younus Muhmand, Deputy Commercial Mr. Khairuddin Mail Ahmadi, Khan Jan Alokozay, Muhammad Dawood Yousufzai and Zeyauddin Achkzai members of the ACCI’s Board of Directors, Acting Minister of the Industry and Commerce of the IEA, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Mr. Jamshed Khwaja Youf, Uzbekistan’s ministers of Agriculture, Mines and Petroleum, Transport, Water and Energy, Deputy CEO of Uzbekistan’s Railway, Acting CEO of the ACCI Mr. Mirwais Hotak, Deputy CEO of the ACCI Mr. Muhammad Anwar Arifi, KCCI’s Vice-Chairman Mr. Ahmad Sha Hakimi and traders and investors of both countries participated in the “Afghan-Uzbek Investment Opportunities” conference.

Mr. Muhmand welcomed the participants, provided them with information about trade relations between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, and affirmed that organizing such events plays a significant role in promoting mutual trade and economic ties and relations.  

He, besides requesting the Uzbek government to provide Afghan traders with more facilities in visa issuance said that including security, no corruption, and no poppy cultivation are great opportunities to invest in Afghanistan and invited Afghan and Uzbek investors to joint ventures in different sectors in the country.

Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce said, “According to trade and economic relations, Uzbekistan is an ancient friend of Afghanistan and the economic stability of Afghanistan is crucial for the overall security of the region.”

He also requested traders and investors from both countries to invest in manufacturing fertilizers, importing wheat to the country, standardizing technology, and mechanizing agriculture.

Mr. Khwaja Youf appreciated the organization of the conference and declared that Uzbekistan’s trade and economic relations play a vital role in the economic stability of Afghanistan.

He, in addition, expressed Uzbek traders and investors’ readiness for joint ventures with Afghan traders and investors.
