The Development of Chambers Service
and Market Economy Workshop
Beside the reform and rebuilding process of
Afghan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), The Chambers Reform
Commission (CRC) in collaboration with Kabul Chamber of Commerce and
Industry conduct a training workshop titled “ The Development of
Chambers Service and Market Economy” on Nov 18- 19 in Kabul. A large
number of participants from different institutions such as ACCI,
AICC, KCCI, private sector representatives, stakeholders, traders,
and chairs of provincial chambers were joined in this workshop.
The aims to conduct such workshop are to
introduce the modern service, carried by chambers to its members and
to enhance the skills of chambers officers. While the lack of
sufficient knowledge to a modern and advanced service is the main
obstacle for effectiveness and efficiency of chambers in
Afghanistan. Hence, the key issues e.g. office service, publication,
entrepreneurs meeting, fair and exhibitions, training seminars,
advisory service and cooperation exchange were discussed in the
seminar.
In his inauguration speech, Mr. Shujauddawla,
president of Kabul Chambers of Commerce and Industry and member of
CRC mentioned that conducting such workshops and highlighting these
stories can ease the ways to develop a toolbox to guide stakeholders
in the formulation of an advanced and high level Chamber in the
country. Thus, undoubtedly, it will help us to move toward
competitiveness and credibility, particularly, in this period of
time that private sector became the only responsible in rebuilding
Afghanistan’s economy after decades of violence.
The workshop was supported by German
International Technical Cooperation (GTZ) and presented by one of
the most experienced professional from SEQUA, Mr. Thomas Jennisch.
Participants were happy and satisfactory of the knowledge the have
gained in this workshop. They pointed out that conducting such
training workshop could help them in better performing and having a
dynamic chamber that achieve prosperity and serve private sector the
ever before. It is noteworthy that the same workshop was help in
Herat city after week.
At the end, the prepared certificates by CRC
were distributed to participants.
