Department
The “ACCI International Affairs Department” (in short: “International Department”) is one of ten departments of ACCI, providing excellent services to domestic and foreign enterprises, the International Department contributes significantly to increasing exports of the private sector and to making Afghanistan a more attractive location for foreign investment. The International Department will closely cooperate with the Afghan-Foreign business community and with members already active in foreign trade to develop and implement strategies to remove or minimize obstacles to higher exports and higher foreign investment as well as strategies to encourage more members to participate in foreign trade. The department will optimize the facilitation of members’ foreign trade activities and potential foreign investors’ activities by providing any information and training services needed, by initiating and coordinating promotional activities, and by smoothly and lawfully authorizing any documents needed. The main tasks of International Relation of ACCI can be counted as follows: Foreign Trade and Visa Documents· Process applications for certificates of origin and any other foreign trade documents swiftly and according to international rules and quality standards. · Facilitate visa and passport applications by members. · Arrange and implement the participation of Afghanistan in the Carnet ATA system · Arrange and implement the participation of Afghanistan in the TIR system. investment Promotion· Coordinate investment promotion strategy with related agencies. · Assist foreign investors in legal procedures. · Collect information on investment conditions in all regions of Afghanistan. · Collect information on investment projects and economic development zones. · Disseminate information on investment conditions through publications and the internet. · Initiate, plan, prepare, and implement investment promotion events. · Establish and maintain good working relations with international venture capital funds. Market Research· Develop market data collection of relevant regions and sectors of Afghanistan. · Design and coordinate regional and sectoral market surveys upon demand. · Establish and maintain national suppliers reliability rating database. · Acquire market research reports of foreign countries upon demand. · Establish and maintain good working relations with external market research institutions. · Conduct national and international activities to promote ACCI market research services. Foreign Trade Promotion· Coordinate trade promotion strategy with related agencies. · Collect information on domestic and foreign customs regulations and tarriffs. · Make relevant customs information available to members upon demand. · Initiate, plan, prepare, and implement training on foreign trade procedures. · Initiate, plan, prepare, and implement trade promotion events. · Represent ACCI in national and international trade organizations. Foreign Trade Missions· Arrange meetings of incoming trade missions with matching member enterprises. · Collect information on international business matchmaking events. · Initiate, plan, prepare, and implement members’ trade missions going abroad. National and International Trade Fairs· Collect information on national and major international trade fairs. · Disseminate information on trade fairs to members. · Coordinate participation of members in important domestic and foreign trade fairs. · Organize group participation of members in key trade fairs via ACCI led booth.
